On Monday evening, February 26th, students got to chat with Francesca Zambello, Artistic Director of the Washington National Opera. Francesca told the students about operations behind-the-scenes, and how a company like WNO puts on a production. Francesca also works with the San Francisco Opera: a connection across the coasts! Students also spoke with Eric Owens, who plays the role of Philip II, King of Spain. Eric, who hails from Philadelphia and attended the renowned Curtis Institute of Music, has made a career of voice and performance. He recounted his path through the profession and talked with the students about the acoustics in the opera house at the Kennedy Center.
